Peggy Gelbrich

Peggy Gelbrich

Peggy Gelbrich Stars in the Night is teaching at Quilted Strait November 11, 12 & 13

For over 30 years, Peggy has been quilting and helping others catch the "quilting bug." Teaching and sharing the art of quilt making is her passion. She has taught quilt making across the United States, teaching large guild classes, quilting retreats, quilt shops and small private groups in her home.

Because of her expertise and attention to detail, Peggy has made quilts that have won many awards and accepted for showing at the Association of Pacific Northwest Quilter's show in Seattle. Her quilt, "Roses for Travis and Sharon" is pictured in the book, "Rose Sampler Supreme," by Rosemary Mahkan. She has been published in Quilter's Newsletter and Fonz and Porter's Love of Quilting magazines.

Award

Peggy loves all types of quilting but traditional quilts are her favorite. Her preferred stitching methods are machine piecing, hand quilting, needle-turn appliqué and crazy quilting.

She enjoys the challenge of learning and experimenting with different techniques in the quilt making process, always looking for an easier way to conquer those seemingly difficult patterns.

Originally from Oregon travels took Peggy to Ketchikan, Alaska for 22 years with husband Ron and three children, Travis, Ian and Allison. After Alaska the Gelbrichs spent five years in Washington and are now back home in Oregon. The kids are grown now and grandchildren have been added to the Gelbrich family; all the more people to receive and share in this love of quilting.
