Recipe Corner
Buffalo Chicken Dip
 
This recipe is fantastic!  Make it for a get together or just for you, either way it will be devoured!
 
Ingredients:
 
1 Large and 1 small can of
chunk chicken, drained
 
2 8 oz. blocks softened cream cheese
 
1 cup ranch dressing
 
3/4 cup Frank's Red Hot 
 
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
 
Tortilla Chips
Fresh celery for garnish
 
Preparation:
 
Drain chicken and place in skillet with red hot, warm on medium heat thoroughly
 
Add ranch dressing and softened cream cheese until mixture is smooth and warmed throughout
 
Stir in 1/2 of the shredded cheddar cheese
 
Transfer mixture to crock pot and sprinkle remaining cheese on top
 
Cook on low setting in crock pot until hot and bubbly
 
Serve with tortilla chips and fresh celery.

Go Cone Yourself 
 
Sounds funny, doesn't it?  Rest assured there is a remedy for the madness you feel at work and coning yourself might just give you the break that you've been looking for.  So what are you supposed to do with the cone exactly?  Researchers say that using a traffic cone to get things done at work can yield tremendous results in as little as 90 minutes.  
 
Your not supposed to wear it.  Your not supposed to put on your inline skates and boogie around it.  What you are encouraged to do with it though is use it as a symbol of someone who is hard at work and not to be disturbed unless the building you work in is on fire!  It would be great if we could take the credit for this clever approach to staving off hungry co-workers in search of your time, but we cannot.  What we can do for you though is pay it forward.  So listen up.
 
If your day is filled with too many meetings that produce more work for you to do with no time to do it or a list of e-mails the length of your arm to answer, then you are in need of some serious coning.  Here's how it works:
  • Every employee should have access to a commonly understood signal, a cone for example each day
  • The cone is to be placed in the doorway of an employee who simply needs a little quiet time
  • Keep yourself coned for no more than 90 minutes: anything more can be very frustrating to others
  • Set an example by respecting the cone, don't interrupt!
  • Turn off all distractions; e-mail alarms, cell phones etc.
  • Do not answer e-mail! This is what got you here to begin with!
  • Make it a routine; 2-3 times a week should work

Now only you know what type of people you work with and what rules, if any, should apply.  The goal here is to reclaim some of your day and actually get something worthwhile accomplished.  The experts say that those who have participated come away feeling rejuvenated and successful.  The only question left to ask is, "Why didn't I think of that?".
