Good afternoon. I can feel the eager anticipation in the air to get out on the field and play some baseball! I appreciate everyone's flexibility in allowing us to add some additional game day opportunities to the fall schedule. Team pages have been updated (and you should have received an individual team e-mail).
I had a chance to meet with a handful of the ABC 2013-2014 grads last Sunday as part of our College Placement Program. ABC has a passion for helping ball players (and families) reach their baseball goals. Ball players are on a time-line that presents new challenges and realities at every stage of your career. Preparing for the college recruiting process is a team effort - ball player, parents, high school coach, ABC staff, etc. Everyone plays a role. I am often asked to share what I feel is the best piece of advise I can give regarding the recruiting process having had the opportunity to mentor so many ball players who have gone on to play beyond high school. There is no question the #1 piece of advise I have for families is to pray about it....as a family.
Reminder that each team has an ABC league game on Saturday. Umpires will be calling balls and strikes and bragging rights are at stake. Show up ready to play hard and do not give away any at-bats, throws across the diamond, or pitches from the mound. It's time to lock in each and every time you are on the field. Make sure you review game times, report times, location, directions, etc (ABC A's, Dbacks, Giants should wear white pants to the game on Saturday). Sunday double header schedules are posted for your review.
ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR LONG SLEEVES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO DROP CONSIDERABLY.
our preference is that you wear royal blue sleeves but realize you may night have a pair or the resources to get a pair (hint Academy). Wear what you have, but do not wear white sleeves. Ball players not in long sleeves risk not participating |
