Did you know: The Austin Baseball Club has had the pleasure of assisting thousands of families in the journey towards the goal of playing baseball after high school. We are proud of all who have worked hard to achieve that goal. Statistics say that less than 6% of high school baseball players go on to play at the NCAA level.
The Austin Baseball Club
is proud of the 200+ ball players
who have worn the ABC jersey and gone on to play baseball at the collegiate and professional level. We look forward to helping you add your name to this list

Learn what student-athletes and parents need to know & should know about the college recruiting process
Navigating the college recruiting process can be one of the toughest challenges a ball player (and family) faces during their baseball career. The baseball culture does a great job of stimulating your senses regarding this topic and ABC would like to help you cut a straight path to reaching your baseball goals. Not every ball player has the talent to play at the highest level, but ALL ball players and families can better educate themselves and meet the challenges head-on with a solid game plan.
Guest speakers: ABC has scheduled to have several instrumental individuals participate in the recruiting workshop on Sunday 9/9:
Current and former head college baseball coaches, member of the professional baseball scouting community, former college baseball players who have played baseball at the NCAA, JUCO and professional level
Format: ball players and parents will gather for a large group discussion. Coach Prater will serve as MC and will be peppering questions to our invited speakers on a variety of topics related to the college baseball experience. There will be a break out session where ball players and parents will separate into two groups for a unique opportunity to hear from invited speakers talk specifically to them.
Purpose: our goal is to try and help de-mystify the college recruiting process and landscape
- equip families with the necessary knowledge to objectively help you take a pro-active approach towards the pursuit of baseball after high school
- understand the "language of baseball; what is the language the college recruiters and scouts speak?
- discuss several strategies that your ball player can implement to help ensure that he is maximizing his opportunity to play at the next level - Showcase, "invitation only", etc
- Hear real life stories and testimonies of how they (ball players) reached their collegiate baseball goal(s)
- What you need to know about the NCAA Clearinghouse
Terms to be discussed: scholarship, "full ride", NCAA clearinghouse, "Showcase", "Exposure", invitation only, prospect, 5 tools, etc
