"Flexing Your Style - A Success Story"
In a recent conversation with Melissa Master-Holder, she provided us with insights on how she uses DISC to teach her people how to leverage their styles. Following are excerpts from that conversation.

DISC Provider:  What are some of the ways you have applied DISC at LPL Financial?

MELISSA:  We use DISC as a basis for our management development class.

DP:  What kinds of things have you learned?

MELISSA:  Well, for starters, how to identify your natural style. Once you know that, you can then develop ways to flex your style to influences positive client and employee relations and service. DISC also helps us create a common language for the management team.

DP:  DISC certainly is a great way to enhance one's management style.

MELISSA:  It's also perfect for team building and opening channels of communication.

DP:  How so?

MELISSA:  Through the DISC Assessment, we examine the various styles in each business unit to learn ways we can flex our own styles while promoting more open communication through enhanced awareness of other styles in the group.

DP:  Management development, team building, communication enhancement; it seems you've covered everything.

MELISSA:  One more thing. I also use DISC as a coaching tool to improve performance by helping people understand why they react the way they do in certain situations and the impact that can have on others.
