February E-Brides Letter
Greetings!

We are now only days away from the 2008 Newport Bridal Show at both Rosecliff and OceanCliff.  Besides the bridal show, it's also the weekend before Valentine's Day and with all of Newport's resources, you can really plan your entire wedding in two days while keeping the romance alive in your relationship!  Scope out restaurants for rehearsal dinners, post-wedding parties and morning-after brunches. Some restaurants and hotels have private rooms for hosting engagement parties, bridal showers and bachelor/bachelorette parties. Be sure to stop by our booth at the bridal show to pick up your free copy of the 2008 Newport Wedding Magazine, the best guide for planning your Newport Wedding! -NWM
It was the most popular wedding date last year, 7-7-07, and reception sites were booked solid - some years in advance. Among them was the wedding of Jason Vetovis and Michelle Reardon. The couple first met when Michelle came to the Island with friends, not knowing she'd be introduced to her future husband. The two got
to talking and have not stopped since.

The couple married at Jesus Saviour Church in Newport, where they are parishioners. After the ceremony, the newlyweds made their way to Brenton Point State Park on Ocean Drive to capture their first moments as husband and wife.

But more than just their photographer wanted to take their picture. A popular tourist stop, Brenton Point was swarming with people. Car horns and shouts of "Congratulations" filled the summer air and before Jason and Michelle knew it, two busloads of teenagers from an international tour group were by their side, taking photos with the happy couple.

The bride and groom made their debut during cocktail hour at the Hyatt Regency Pavilion on Goat Island, where they greeted family and friends while the sounds of steel drums danced in the air. At the start of the reception, Michelle, adorned in a Maggie Sottoro corset gown, remembers walking into the Rose Island ballroom for the first time. "One of the most memorable moments was walking into that room -- we were able to see the results of all our planning and see just how beautiful everything turned out." It was in that moment that bride and groom danced for the first time to Jimmy Wayne's "You Are."
Guest seats were uniquely accented with lucky dice and "Lucky 7s and 11s" scratch tickets to theme the couple's evening. Fuchsia was also a dominant theme, from the four-layered square cake filled with lemon curd and raspberry filling, to the floral arrangements that sat on a 24-inch footed vase. The menu celebrated a medley of the sea including clam chowder and a surf and turf main course of grilled petit filet and seafood imperial stuffed lobster tail.

After dancing into the night, the bride, groom and wedding revelers reconvened for brunch the next morning, where Jason and Michelle were wished bon voyage as they jetted off on their Hawaiian honeymoon.
Self-proclaimed "Lucky in Love," Jason and Michelle Vetovis currently live in the heart of Newport. --DC
