From the Executive Director's Desk

Greetings Members!!
- NUCA of NM has joined ABC and NMAFSA in protest against Santa Fe's proposal to use "Community Workforce Agreements (CWAs)." The use of CWAs was passed by the Santa Fe City Council on February 29, 2012. Basically, the CWAs mandate that only construction companies that are signatory to a collective bargaining agreements can bid on taxpayer funded projects over $500,000. NUCA of NM believes that bidding should be left open to all qualified contractors to ensure competitive pricing and fair bidding practices. I will be meeting with Rebecca Wurzburger, District 2 Santa Fe Council on Monday.
Councilor Wurzburger serves as Mayor Pro Tem and chairs the following committees:
- Public Works/CIP and Land Use Committee
- City Business and Quality of Life Committee
- Community Development Commission
I will report back to the membership after this meeting.
August 11 is the date used for a campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of using 811. NM811 is having an open house with food and vendors from 11am - 2pm on Saturday 8/11. Click Here for the flyer. Please drop by if you're in the area.
