Greetings! If January is any indication of how this year is going to go then get ready for a busy 2009! Your membership renewal invoices have been mailed and I have been receiving them steadily. I'll be sending out a reminder this week, just in case your paperwork has been buried on your desk. The Membership Directory is in the works, so get your paperwork and dues in as soon as possible to avoid been left out of the directory.

 

Last week, you should have a received an application for the 2008 NUCA of NM Safety Awards.  The deadline to have it back to the association office is March 2nd, so don't delay. This week, the recently approved NUCA of NM/OSHA Zia Partnership is being mailed to all contractor members. The Safety Awards and Partnership Levels will be presented at the Associate Showcase on April 16, 2009.

 

Associates!! Could you use a little more time with your clients and potential customers to talk about your products and services? At NUCA of NM, there are several networking opportunities, but on April 16, 2009, the NUCA of NM Membership meeting will give you an opportunity to spend more time with other members and potential members. The Associate Showcase is only for NUCA of NM Associate members and is no cost to you. Set up a booth or just hang out and visit  prior to the regularly scheduled Membership Meeting. Watch for more details in your mailbox!

 

The next NUCA of NM membership meeting is scheduled for February 19, 2009 at 11:30am at the Albuquerque Country Club. NUCA of NM Lobbyist, Carla Sonntag will give us an update on what's happening up in Santa Fe during this 60 day session. With an estimated 3,000 bills hitting the session this year, Carla weeds out the bills that we need to be aware of. We will be extending the membership meeting in February to fit in another speaker and please invite your superintendents and foremen to the meeting. Danny W. Jarrett, Attorney at Law will be presenting information on the Federal Legislation known as "Card Check." This bill may be signed into law this year, and you need to know what this means for your company. Danny W.
