President's Message,

Welcome to 2009! This will be a beneficial year for your company within the Association as new benefits are available in 2009.
Take advantage of the
  • Zia Partnership
  • Safety Awards
  • Safety Training Network
  • Construction Industry Crime Alliance
  • Associates Showcase
  • Education Courses and Seminars
  • And your regular membership benefits.
Your membership renewal papers are somewhere on your desk, so don't forget to take a few moments to fill out the company information form, your check and mail both to NUCA of NM.

This year, we are doing something different with the newsletter. To keep you informed in a timely manner and to cut down on the size of each newsletter, you'll be receiving a newsletter every other week rather than once a month.

I look forward to serving as your President in 2009 and please contact myself or the association office if you have any questions. One of the main focuses for 2009 that the Board discussed at the Planning Session in December was membership growth. It's time to grow the Association and boost our strength. Please contact Jane Jernigan at the Association office at 505 888 0752 if you know of a potential member, and she will get in touch with them.

Thanks!
Boyd Dunham, Western Summit of New Mexico

Completed applications with all supporting materials must be submitted to NUCA by February 27, 2009.  NUCA NOW ACCEPTING NATIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS SUBMISSIONS Through the donation of equipment, materials, manpower and money, NUCA members continue to demonstrate their commitment to addressing needs in the communities where they work and live--everything from tackling house repairs for a low-income homeowner to performing site preparation and cleanup for a charity athletic event. Because the scope and breadth of this volunteerism is a source of pride for the industry, NUCA's National Community Service Awards will again honor those members that have demonstrated exemplary community service. The awards for projects completed in 2008 will be presented during the 2009 NUCA Spring Awards Dinner (in conjunction with the annual Washington Summit), which will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, Virginia.

Any contractor, associate or institutional member of the National Utility Contractors Association may submit a project(s). A panel of judges selected by the Awards Committee will evaluate the entries and choose the overall winners in each of four categories based on the number of company employees. All complete and timely entries will be recognized in Utility Contractor magazine. Click here for the official guidelines and forms. The deadline for entries is Friday, March 27, 2009.
