Economic forecast paints mixed future

 September 3, 2012 @ 12:05AM | THE KPBJ

Business Examiner

The state Economic and Revenue Forecast Council's preliminary September forecast shows a revised slightly stronger 2012 GDP of 2.2 percent, but anticipates lower GDP growth in 2013 than was expected during June.

The revision for 2012 (2.2 percent vs. 2.1 percent) is due entirely to a downward revision to 2011 GDP, the council said. The new forecast for 2013 is 2.1 percent, compared with 2.4 percent, in June. The forecast for 2014 and 2015 remains at 3 percent per year. Read more....

SAM
SAM Update

The federal government's much anticipated
System for Award Management (SAM) site has launched, consolidating several Federal procurement systems, including the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), FedReg, and Excluded Parties List (EPLS).

Steps for registering your business on SAM can be found in the User Guide posted on the SAM website, as well as the Quick Start Guide.Washington PTAC counselors are available to answer questions and assist as needed, and SAM will be incorporated into PTAC workshops soon.

As anticipated with a site launch of this magnitude, there have been technical issues since the launch on July 29. The General Services Administration is aware of and working to address issues as quickly as possible.

For firms with active profiles, your data was automatically migrated from CCR, and we suggest waiting until technical issues are resolved to create your SAM user account and entity registration. If you need to update an expired profile or are new to government contracting and need to register your company in order to be eligible for an award and need assistance, please contact your PTAC counselor at 360-377-0180.
