"Regionalism" ... Boeing's 737 MAX 
  

The Puget Sound, both East and West sound, is home to many successful global companies, creating a magnet for innovative and successful companies as they seek expansion and relocation sites. Decision Makers II is a forum to learn about and embrace the regional opportunities created by companies like Boeing, Amazon, Vigor, and Watson Furniture.

Tayloe Washburn, co-chair of the Washington Aerospace Partnership, will keynote the event. Washburn has extensive experience bringing  people and groups together to accomplish complex projects. Project Pegasus is the Washington Aerospace Partnership's effort to position Washington State as the premier and preferred site for the re-engined Boeing 737 or MAX. Washburn will highlight findings from the Project Pegasus competiveness study, scheduled for completion in late October 2011. He will also address existing and new opportunities in the aerospace industry for Washington, Puget Sound and Kitsap companies.

Whether you are a game startup or are thinking of starting a new company, this event is for you. From Founder's Sessions to an indie game competition, this day-long event has something for everyone.

Indie Game Competition: For those of you with innovative game ideas, this is your opportunity to present to a panel of judges for an opportunity to win a $2,500 cash prize and a chance to present to Executives from Bungie, Valve, and more. Those who are interested need to register and apply in advance by October 26th. The top 5 submissions will present Saturday afternoon to our panel of industry luminaries.

2012 Washington State Small Business Award Competition Begins -- SBA Seeks Nominations

 

Help the SBA recognize outstanding leaders in the small business community. Any individual or organization dedicated to the support of the small business community, including, but not limited to, trade and professional associations and business organizations may submit nominations. A company/owner may self-nominate. SBA's size standards apply in defining a business as small. Nominees must be residents of the U.S. or its territories and will be subject to background checks and must comply with federal civil rights laws. Individuals may not be nominated for more than one award category. See the SBA website for more details. Nominations are due by November 28th.
