A New Industry for Kitsap.  In case you missed it, we announced at our annual Decision Makers Breakfast that Profile Composites has chosen Kitsap for it's expanding business. Profile, based in British Columbia, is a manufacturer of composite products. Products will include "Side Stix" crutches and collapsible wheelchairs. They will be hiring disabled workers and are looking to use local vendors as much as possible. The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences contacted KEDA for assistance in making the case for Kitsap.  Geoff Wood, Profile President noted that Mayor Patty Lent and Bremerton has welcomed him with open arms. They hope to set up shop at the Port of Bremerton.  Profile intends to hire 200 people within three years.

KEDA to hold regular contracting classes beginning next month. Accounting Compliance, Construction Contracting, "Meet the Primes", and Government 101 are all on the list. If you want to be included, please contact our office at 360-377-9499.

Calling all startups:  KEDA is reaching out to all businesses who started operations here in 2009 and 2010. As a part of a block grant, we intend to provide support to these businesses of the future by introducing them to government contracting. Many of our current businesses do some level of government contracting. This is a source of business stability given the large array of contracting opportunities here.
