Your South Carolina Christian Action Council, our state's only statewide ecumenical agency, continues to sail the ship of Christian Unity and hold high the banner for a just and caring society.

In these challenging times, the reasoned Christian voice of the Council needs to be heard in our communities, congregations, and in discussions of public policy.

Since the Council's founding in 1933, it's member bodies have sustained it along with support from individuals, congregations, and others.

After living on the financial edge for several years and with Denominations bracing for shortfalls in funding, the Council last month experienced a 53% loss of income. The same is holding true for March.

We've cut overhead and other expenses in everyway possible in order to remain actively engaged in the Council's mission. To make it through these tough times, the Officers have approved using credit. However, the interest is very high (24.24% APR). While deemed necessary at this time, paying such high interest takes funds from mission.

Your Council's mission is:
  • To promote and facilitate dialogue among diverse Christian traditions on matters of belief and practice; and
  • To work in partnership to:
    -  Advocate for social justice,
    -  Promote peace-making, and
    -  Foster racial and cultural healing and reconciliation.

Even with major cuts and expenses overwhelming resources, your Council continues to live together in faith, to work for unity, and to advocate for justice.

YOU can make a difference, support your Council. CLICK HERE to give now.

You may be able to contribute:

$3      For years a faithful supporter sent $3 on a regular basis. As  happens when even small gifts are given for the common good, God's work of multiplication begins. Join in God's multiplication by encouraging others to join you in support of Your Council.

$10     1000 supporters giving $10 each and leading each of your congregations to give an average of $100 each annually would meet the Council's immediate need and make more secure its future.

$25     500 supporters giving an average of $25 each and leading your women's or men's group to support the Council at an average of $25 yearly would meet the Council's immediate need and build support for the future.

$100    100 supporters giving $100 and leading your congregations to support the Council an average of $200 a year would secure the present and make firmer the foundation for the future.

$500      20 supporters giving $500 and leading your congregations to support the Council an average of $500 a year would meet the present need and give support for the future.

$1,000   10 supporters giving $1,000 and leading 10 congregations to average $1,000 in annual support for the Council would meet the immediate need and give support for the future.

Give today to support Your Council's visible Christian witness of the unity for which Jesus the Christ prayed and work for justice about which he taught.
