In addition to receiving the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Jupiters have won first prize in the Banff International String Quartet Competition, grand prize in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and membership in Lincoln Center's Chamber Music Society Two.

Two-time Grammy-nominated violinist Jesse Mills; Raman Ramakrishnan, founding cellist of the prize-winning Daedalus Quartet; and pianist Rieko Aizawa,who made her U.S. concerto debuts at the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall, take their inspiration from legendary pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski. The Trio will perform with Linda Chesis.

THE JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET

The Grammy-winning Juilliard String Quartet presents a program of late Beethoven quartets. Honored by The Recording Academy® with its Lifetime Achievement Award, JSQ members are: Joseph Lin and Ronald Copes, violin; Samuel Rhodes, viola; and Joel Krosnick, cello.

PLUS FREE PERFORMANCES 

The Flute Fest at the Otesaga will be held on Thursday, August 2 at 7:30 pm. This annual celebration of the flute, which is free and open to all, features Guo-Liang Han of the China National Symphony Orchestra, Henrik Wiese of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Linda Chesis, and the New York Summer Music Festival International Flute Institute.

And, we'll have free Pro Am performances with highly accomplished amateur musicians performing with the Horszowski Trio and Linda Chesis. The Pro Am finale will be held on August 8 at Christ Church in Cooperstown, with more performances to be announced soon.
          

Festival concerts are held in Cooperstown, NY at:

  • The Farmers' Museum, 5775 State Route 80 (7/8, 7/29 and 8/24)  
  • Otesaga Resort Hotel, 60 Lake Street (8/2, 8/5, 8/12 and 8/19)
  • Christ Church, 46 River Street  (8/8).

As an email subscriber, you are among the first to be able to purchase tickets for our 14th season. We lowered our ticket prices in 2011, and we've kept the same prices for this season. $25 for adults, $15 for students (18 and under).   

 

Brown Paper Tickets We are using Brown Paper Tickets for phone and online sales. The call-in box office number, 800-838-3006,  is answered 24 hours a day. You can reach them online through the Festival website,  CooperstownMusicFest.org.
