Common Complaint: Eyelid Dermatitis
One of the most common eye complaints we encounter is eyelid dermatitis. This may be caused by multiple things such as allergies, old makeup or even nail polish. Patients often have a history of trying a new cleanser or makeup and then having this rash appear. If you think you may have this problem, we recommend a nightly prescription to help prevent the rash. We also will frequently do skin allergy testing to see if there is any ingredient you are being exposed to that is the culprit. A gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe is recommended and over the counter hydrocortisone can be used, but only for a few days.
