Accenture and the Aidmatrix Foundation Call on Texas Nonprofits to Share Tech Vision

Applications Extended for First Annual 2012 Technology Innovation Award

Dallas, TX - October 1, 2012 - The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization that builds and operates powerful technology hubs to solve the world's most challenging humanitarian crises, announced today that it has extended applications for the 2012 Technology Innovation Award: Digital Makeover, sponsored by Accenture. The award will help a Texas nonprofit fulfill its creative, technology vision.

The 2012 Technology Innovation Award: Digital Makeover winner will receive more than $25,000 in consulting and technology services, underwritten by Accenture. The winner and finalist will be announced during the Aidmatrix Foundation Inc. and NPower Texas' inaugural DFW Digital Ball on Nov. 10. The event will host more than 400 of Dallas' most influential technology and business leaders.

"Digital presence has become imperative for nonprofits to be able to reach the people who need their help the most," said Darryl Heath, managing director for Accenture's Dallas office.  "We know there are many deserving and resourceful organizations in the Dallas community that want to apply technology to improve operations and better achieve their missions."

Accenture and Aidmatrix first teamed in 2004 to develop Aidmatrix's National Donations Management Network, an online solution that more efficiently manages product donations in response to disasters. The system has been replicated around the world, including in Eastern Europe and India. Accenture also sponsors the Technology Innovation Award in Atlanta, Charlotte and Washington.

Nonprofits interested in applying for the 2012 Technology Innovation Award: Digital Makeover can visit www.DFWDigitalBall.com/technology-innovation-award or email DFWTechAward@aidmatrix.org to learn more. Applications are now being accepted through October 12, 2012.

About the DFW Digital Ball

The DFW Digital Ball will be held on November 10, 2012 from 6:30pm to Midnight at Dallas Market Center. It promises to be the "Go-To Event" for the technology community, offering a night of powerful networking in a social, non-business setting, allowing technology professionals to deepen existing, and build new, relationships with many of the DFW area's most influential players. The "Who's Who" of IT Executives and Technology Companies are aligning themselves with the event in support of innovative technology applications for nonprofit organizations, further strengthening our local and global communities. The event will be co-chaired by IT Executive Hosts Thaddeus Arroyo, CIO at AT&T and Ramón Baez, SVP & CIO at Hewlett-Packard, celebrating the empowerment of the nonprofit community through the adoption of technology during an evening of dinner, dancing and visually stunning performances.

This will be the first Aidmatrix/NPower Digital Ball in the DFW area. Proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc., a DFW-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that builds humanitarian-relief technology solutions for partners in DFW, Texas, across the U.S., and around the world. The Digital Ball was first introduced in 2001 by Techbridge, the NPower affiliate in Atlanta, GA and was successfully followed in Charlotte, NC in 2007 by the NPower organization now known as Apparo. Interested IT Executives and prospective sponsors can find more information at www.DFWDigitalBall.com or can inquire at DFWDigitalBall@aidmatrix.org.
