Gulf Coast States' Preparation & Response to Isaac
Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana offices of emergency services all had preparations in place prior to the storm making landfall so that they could assess the damage and begin the recovery efforts more quickly. Part of these efforts include each Gulf Coast States' participation in the National Donations Management Network (NDMN), a web-based solution for connecting the business community with emergency workers' needs following a disaster.

Aidmatrix and Microsoft Team Highlight Needs After Isaac Makes Landfall
Aidmatrix has partnered with Microsoft to help support disaster relief organizations in their response efforts, most recently for Hurricane Isaac. Through Microsoft's cloud-based portal, donors were able to access a detailed view of Hurricane Isaac and find links for ways to help the recovery efforts. Read the full story

FareShare Opens 3 New Depot Locations, All Live with SCM4Hunger Warehouse Management Module
FareShare, a UK national charity which supports communities to relieve food poverty, has opened 3 brand new depot locations, and they are now all live on SCM4Hunger Warehouse Management Module. FareShare opened a depot in Peterlee, a town in County Durham, England, southeast of Newcastle. 2 more depots were opened in Leicester, England, a city located in the East Midlands of England. Congratulations to the FareShare team and for all that helped make this another successful go-live!

Congratulations to Second Harvest North Florida in Jacksonville. They are our newest (and 43rd) Feeding America member Food Bank to implement the AgencyExpress® Online Ordering system. We look forward to much good news from them as they introduce and roll out online ordering to their network of over 450 nonprofit organizations in 17 counties. Their banner says it all: Feeding North Florida - We Nourish Hope™. AgencyExpress is a web-based application specifically customized to work with the Feeding-America-supported warehouse system. It enables the food banks to make their inventory visible to agencies while empowering the agencies to easily place orders online. The result: more humanitarian relief gets delivered more quickly to those in need.

India FoodBanking Network Opens its Doors
India has started its first food bank to feed the poor in a country that is home to almost half the world's undernourished children. The Delhi government and the nonprofit organization India FoodBanking Network opened the first food bank this summer, with two warehouses to store food and 15 donors lined up, including corporations and retailers.
