Dallas, Texas - April 23, 2012 - The Aidmatrix Foundation today announced that it is partnering with the Microsoft's Citizenship team to enhance disaster relief management. The partnership will focus on further development of the Microsoft Windows Azure Disaster Response technologies and programs that facilitate communications between responders and the public during disasters.
Under a grant provided by the Microsoft, this partnership will help to build Windows Azure-based web and mobile technologies s that provide immediate access to the latest information on conditions in the disaster area, as well as the ability to rapidly share critical information with the community and other relief organizations using dynamic maps, social media integration, photos and video content.
Aidmatrix will provide integration to its SCM4Giving™ platform to enable its NGO partners to publish their needs requests not only to their existing sites, but also directly to the Microsoft network of disaster communication websites thereby making those needs visible to a much broader audience. Aidmatrix partners with more than 40,000 nonprofit, corporate and government relief agencies worldwide who can benefit from this work to connect more donors, volunteers and responders during times of disaster.
"Aidmatrix is working with Microsoft to increase visibility and connectivity during times of disasters. Everything is so hectic during disaster recovery, that by making communication and data sharing easier, more time can be spent in other areas of the recovery effort," stated Melis Jones, Vice President of Programs at Aidmatrix.
