Microsoft, Accenture & Avanade Profile Aidmatrix' Innovation for Japan Disaster Relief

When the earthquake struck Japan last year, Aidmatrix had already been working with Second Harvest Japan in trying to address food poverty within the nation. However, the circumstances of the earthquake required a dramatic acceleration of our plans. In order to meet that need, we turned to a solution platform that had recently been implemented: Windows Azure. Our investment in the migration of applications to the Azure Cloud gave us the agility to quickly deploy a local solution for Second Harvest Japan within hours of the decision to implement the solution to support  the tsunami response. Beyond helping respond to the Japan earthquake, the investment yielded operational benefits that enabled us to reinvest the cost savings into other relief programs and pass that savings on to our NGO partners. The work was a true partnership between Aidmatrix, Microsoft, Accenture and Avanade. The case studies below further detail the work involved.

Rebuilding Haiti: 2 Years Later

Many of our NGO partners are still hard at work in Haiti working on the rebuilding efforts. Our team at Aidmatrix will forever remember and honor those lost in the earthquake in 2010. We also remember the sacrafices and hope of the Haitians we met in our work as they came to work to serve their neighbors despite having lost everything themselves. The recovery unfortunately is a very long road. Supporting these reputable organizations still hard at work in Haiti can keep the work going. Read about what our great partners at CARE, Catholic Relief Services and Save the Children are doing to aid the long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
