DALLAS, TX - August 10, 2011 - The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. today announced its partnerships with the Commonwealths of Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, and the States of Nebraska and Wyoming for the National Donations Management Network (NDMN), powered by the Aidmatrix Network®. The NDMN is a national disaster relief donations coordination system funded by FEMA, the UPS Foundation, Accenture, and the Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. to better manage unsolicited donations and volunteers by helping to connect donors to recipients. This web-based tool reduces paperwork for processing donations and allows for more streamlined information sharing for State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), National VOAD, State governments and FEMA.
The States' Web portals on the National Donations Management Network facilitate the coordination of donations and volunteer resources in times of disaster between the State offices of emergency services and those nonprofit relief agencies on the frontlines. NDMN provides a communication link between interested donors and nonprofits that are in need of resources. Nonprofits are also able to post needs onto the system for donors to view and fulfill.
"The National Donations Management Network will enable Pennsylvania to be better prepared for disaster response and recovery," said Glenn Cannon, director of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. "Joining a network as large as the NDMN can connect us to donors across the United States during a disaster, increasing our ability to find the products we need when we need them."
The National Donations Management Network now covers 92% of the U.S. population and connects 50 states and territories with hundreds of relief organizations. With the addition of Pennsylvania, the NDMN now provides disaster support for all of FEMA Region 3. With the addition of Nebraska, the NDMN provides support for all of FEMA Region 7. These States are preparing before a disaster strikes to create an effective flow of relief to the people-in-need. The NDMN is streamlining relief efforts with technology and relationships similar to the way supply-chains are utilized in the private sector.
