Airlink Offers Flight Donations for Humanitarian Relief
Congrats to our partner ISTAT Airlink on the launch of their new website. ISTAT Airlink, a humanitarian initiative of the ISTAT Foundat ion, offers a website dedicated to coordinating flight donations to move developmental and emergency humanitarian relief. The site provides a free service to connect humanitarian charities and Non Government Organizations (NGOs) which have a need to transport passengers or cargo with airlines that can provide transportation for free or for a reduced fare. If your organization is interested in learning about flight donations, visit www.airlink-info.org.
Aidmatrix is proud to be a partner of Airlink and to be able to donate our services to this great effort. Connecting Valuable Unsolicited Donations Through the National Donations Management Network
Tracy Allardice knew several states had been affected by flooding and she wanted to make a donation to aid the disaster relief efforts. While searching for an organization in need, she found the National Donations Management Network (NDMN). This web-based tool enables donors to post their offers and connects them with State and National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) members. Tracy wanted to see how the system worked, so she donated a gas card for flood relief. An hour later she received a phone call from Phyllis Alexander from the Adventist Community Services (ACS) in South Dakota. Tracy sent the gas card directly to Phyllis and she promptly sent a gracious hand-written thank you note to Tracy. Tracy was thrilled with the system and thought it worked efficiently and effectively to connect unaffiliated donors to people in need.

Create a Holiday Virtual Donations Drive
In the midst of this joyous holiday season, take some time to think about those less fortunate than you. That is what WDSU Channel 6 in New Orleans is doing as they host a Virtual Aid Drive™ for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana (donate to their drive here). Companies and Food Banks around the country are hosting food and giving drives just like this one. Start planning your year-end donations drive for the upcoming holiday season. A Virtual Aid Drive™ can be quickly set up and customized for your organization. All the donations are processed securely online - so there's no worry about collecting cash. And they can be a lot of fun. "Just used your service at vad.aidmatrix.org to donate to my employer's food drive, and was very impressed," stated an anonymous donor. "Fast, easy, and SO much more "bang for the buck" compared with shopping in retail stores for donations. Instead of a sack of cans, this year I was able to donate three cases, because you made it so easy. Thanks for a great service!" Find out more about creating a Virtual Aid Drive for your organization
