Alaska, Kansas, Kentucky and Nevada Join the National Donations Management Network, powered by the Aidmatrix Network®

42 US States and Territories Now Connected to Enhance Disaster Preparedness

DALLAS, TX - July 29, 2009 - The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. today announced its partnerships with the states of Alaska, Kansas, Kentucky and Nevada for the National Donations Management Network (NDMN), powered by the Aidmatrix Network®. The NDMN is a national disaster relief coordination system funded by FEMA, the UPS Foundation, Accenture, and the Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. to better manage unsolicited donations and volunteers. It connects State and local governments with donors, State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), National VOAD, and FEMA, through web-based tools that reduce paperwork for processing donations and allow for easy information sharing.

The States' web portals on the National Donations Management Network will help to coordinate relief efforts in times of disaster between the State offices of emergency services and the nonprofit relief agencies on the frontlines. The portals for each State include volunteer management, in-kind donations management, warehouse management, and financial referrals management. The goal of the NDMN is to link communication between interested donors and nonprofits in need of resources. Nonprofits are also able to post needs onto the system for donors to view and fulfill.

Casey Cook, from Alaska Emergency Management states, "Joining the National Donations Management Network is a step towards a more organized and efficient method for managing donations and volunteers during a disaster. Alaska is so vast that the need to quickly connect and transport resources and volunteers with people in need is extremely important during times of disaster. We are excited to have the NDMN as a resource for our emergency response plans and in our disaster preparedness training."

The National Donations Management Network now covers more than 81% of the U.S. population and connects 42 states and territories with hundreds of relief organizations. With the addition of these four states, the NDMN now provides disaster support for all of FEMA Region VII. These States are prepared before a disaster strikes to create an effective flow of relief to the people-in-need. The NDMN is streamlining relief efforts with technology and relationships just like the supply chains used within the for-profit world.
