Vitamin Angels to Distribute 58 Million Prenatal Vitamins Using the Aidmatrix Network® for Humanitarian Relief Donations Benefit the Women's Health Programs through the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC), Food Banks and Nonprofits Around the World |
DALLAS, TX - November 19, 2008 - The Aidmatrix Foundation Inc. today announced that its partner Vitamin Angels began an effort to move more than 650,000 bottles of prenatal vitamins to maternal health programs using the Aidmatrix Network system to deliver the vitamins to partnering nonprofit agencies. Vitamin Angels uses the Aidmatrix Network to administer and increase their distribution capacity to nonprofits around the world. The initial distribution of 55,000 bottles has already been connected with the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) and future distributions are planned to connect with the food bank community across the U.S., along with other hunger and medical relief member organizations on the Aidmatrix Network. The manufacturer, ProCaps Laboratories, donated these prenatal vitamins as part of a planned-giving program whereby it manufactured and donated a bottle of prenatal vitamins to Vitamin Angels for every product sale made during their Home Shopping Network (HSN) segments earlier this year. Its donation to Vitamin Angels consists of more than 650,000 bottles (58 million capsules). Vitamin Angels' Maternal Health Program will then work to distribute them both domestically and abroad. "Vitamin Angels' commitment is to reach the unreachable and provide vital nutrition to save children's lives. Nowhere is this more important than in helping pregnant women and providing vital nutrients to assure a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Aidmatrix is providing an essential link for Vitamin Angels to help us achieve this goal. With Aidmatrix's help, Vitamin Angels will be reaching hundreds of thousands of women and fulfilling our promise that every pregnant woman has a right to basic prenatal nutrition!" -- Howard Schiffer, Founder and President of Vitamin Angels. Vitamin Angels supports many nonprofits who address malnutrition in children and adults around the world. Vitamin Angels joined the Aidmatrix Network® in August, 2008, to facilitate the delivery of their donations to people-in-need. The Aidmatrix Network is a supply chain for humanitarian relief involving donations-management technology and a network of nonprofit partners that connects them digitally. The NAFC is also a member and recipient of the Aidmatrix Network®. The NAFC runs award-winning medical relief programs using additional Aidmatrix solutions to help further the distribution of medical relief across the USA to local free clinics serving the uninsured and underinsured.
