New Hampshire, New Jersey and Utah Partner with the Aidmatrix Network® 33 US States and Territories Now Connected to Enhance Disaster Preparedness on the National Donations Management Program |
|
DALLAS, TX - November 18, 2008 - The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. today announced its partnerships with the States of New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Utah. These governments joined the Aidmatrix Network® for humanitarian relief - a national relief coordination system funded by FEMA, the UPS Foundation, Accenture, and other partners of the Aidmatrix Foundation, to better manage unsolicited donations and volunteers. It connects State and local governments with unaffiliated donors, State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs), National VOAD, and FEMA through web-based tools that reduce paperwork for processing donations and allow for easy information sharing and transparency. The States' web portals on the Aidmatrix Network® will help to coordinate relief efforts in times of disaster between the State offices of emergency services and the nonprofit relief agencies on the frontlines. The portals for each State include volunteer management, in-kind donations management, warehouse management, and financial referrals management. The goal of the Aidmatrix Network® is to link communication between interested donors and nonprofits in need of resources. Nonprofits are also able to post needs onto the system for donors to view and fulfill. Tim Dupre, with Volunteer New Hampshire, states his excitement for the partnership. "Even New Hampshire has experienced disasters that have devastated the lives of our citizens. Just since 2005, three brutal floods, a tornado, and a series of flash floods have kept long-term recovery efforts busy. Looking forward to a winter that is predicted to be harsh with record snow falls, possible ice storms and power outages, getting some help with the delivery of services is truly needed. With resources getting thinner, having Aidmatrix as an accountability resource to meet recovery needs will hopefully help to take the 'long' out of long-term recovery. Resources that allow us to be better prepared and recover faster from disaster aren't something you say no to." The Aidmatrix Network® now covers more than 70% of the U.S. population and connects 33 states and territories with hundreds of relief organizations. These States are prepared before a disaster strikes to create an effective flow of relief to the people in need. The Network is streamlining relief efforts with technology and relationships just like the supply chains used within the for-profit world. Through the Network, there are management tools for volunteers, in-kind donations, financial donations, and relief warehouse operations.
