Indiana Partners With Aidmatrix Network® for Disaster Relief and to Manage Flood Relief Response
The State of Indiana is now a partner in the Aidmatrix Network® for Disaster Relief. The Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives' website www.ofbci.in.gov is the central site for information on how to make donations in support of relief efforts. Behind the scenes, it links into Indiana's portal on the Aidmatrix Network®. Indiana also raised a multiagency relief warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, to manage the incoming unsolicited donations for the victims of recent severe flooding throughout the State. The purpose of this warehouse is to centralize the relief efforts and provide powerful, coordinated support to the nonprofits working on the ground. The relief warehouse is being managed by the Adventist Community Services (ACS) team who specialize in operating disaster relief warehouses. ACS is highly experienced in using this solution in several other major disasters. Aidmatrix's Mike Seifert was deployed to the Indiana Emergency Operations Center to assist in the recovery efforts.
Iowa Joins Aidmatrix Network® for Disaster Relief and Uses New Technology to Manage Flood Relief Response The State of Iowa is now a new partner in the Aidmatrix Network® for Disaster Relief. Iowa launched www.flood2008.iowa.gov as the central site for information on relief efforts. Donors can make offers of goods, services, money or their own time using the Iowa site. Behind the scenes, it links into Iowa's portal on the Aidmatrix Network® to help with unsolicited In-Kind Donations Management, Volunteer Management and Financial Referrals Management. This web-based system is helping the State of Iowa manage public response of spontaneous giving. The information is collected electronically which, in turn, allows the State to easily communicate with the members of IDHRC, Iowa Disaster Human Resource Council, the State's VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) group. The end result is that more quality donations can be processed and delivered to the flood victims more efficiently.
