Ordinary Landscape - Solo Show by Suzanne Keith Loechl
Artwork by Suzanne Keith Loechl "Ordinary Landscape" exhibits paintings by Suzanne Keith Loechl. Originally from England and currently living in Urbana-Champaign, the artist draws inspiration from seemingly commonplace elements in the landscape that evoke a sense of domesticity, memory and nostalgia -- laundry blowing in the breeze, umbrellas, lawns and farm fields.

Suzanne endeavors to merge her perceptions as a landscape architect with her deep sense of vulnerability as a mother into her work by exploring ordinary human marks on the landscape.

Suzanne Keith Loechl's exhibition: "Pure Painting" will be on display from June 23 - July 20, 2006.

Artisan Gallery - All Things Woven
Artwork by Suzanne Shafer-Wilson From June 23 to August 26, 2006 the Artisan Gallery is showing "All Things Woven" with work by 18 artisans who come from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. Processes include: hand and machine loom weaving; knitting, crocheting and felting; basketry; jewelry / metalsmithing; glass techniques; and assorted fiber art approaches i.e. wrapping, twining; stitching etc.

"All Things Woven" continues the Artisan Gallery exhibition series intended to explore the many diverse materials, processes and techniques being used by artists in craft disciplines today. We deliberately allow a great deal of latitude with our exhibition concepts and calls for art because we want to be as inclusive as possible, selecting artists using traditional, contemporary and conceptual, or combinations of approaches, in order to develop their ideas. We are never sure what to expect, but thus far, wonderful and very talented artists have not disappointed us.

Participating artisans are Karen Gubitz, Sarah Hartshorn, Jana Hassett, Jeanne Heifetz, Rosemarie Hohol, Yura Ilieva, Kristine Kadlec, Lialia Kuchma, Barbara Kubala, Claire Marcus, Rebecca McEntee, Laurie M. Peters, Jane Raissle, Elizabeth Rhoads Read, Susanne Shafer-Wilson, Regina Vorgang, Patrice Wernlund and Eugenia Zazowska.
