This month's Review-It winner is Judy from Ohio for her review of Denise Grupp-Verbon's Finger Puzzles and Shapes for the Harp
book. "This book has been so good for my technique. A few minutes with this book each practice session strengthens my skill in placing and getting to the strings without so many buzzes. I keep my laptop by my harp with the CD so I can use it each practice. Highly recommended."
Here's what Judy told us about herself.
"I was profoundly affected by a harp about 6 years ago. I was at work (as clinical dietitian) and heard some beautiful, peaceful music coming from the waiting room of the Radiation Oncology department. A harp therapy student was performing in the lobby. I felt the lifting of my spirits and when I went to investigate, I noticed the patients waiting there had more peaceful countenances. Many of them commented how nice it was. I went home that night and told my husband that I had an "aah haa" moment that day and I needed to learn to play the harp. Much to my surprise he thought it was a good idea! I followed my heart, found a great teacher, rented a harp for several months, and then bought my own. Now I continue to have a passion for this remarkable instrument. I play for a variety of venues, church, hospice, weddings, hospitals, funerals, chamber of commerce. My great joy is to observe the peace that my harp brings to others."Finger Puzzles and Shapes for the Harp
