Roaming Table
|
Since its first appearance at the Rosa Parks Transit Center, December 19th, the Roaming Table has visited two more locations. On Friday, January 6, the Table spent a few hours in the lobby of the Hannan House (4750 Woodward Ave), which is home to the Luella Hannan Memorial Foundation. This non-profit organization provides services and support to the local senior citizen community. Guy Williams of Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice and Shamyle Nesfield of Michigan Community Resources helped us reach out to the many visitors of the Hannan House.
On the following Saturday, January 14, the Table made its third appearance at the Northwest Activities Center (18100 Meyers Rd) during the Community Resource Forum VII, "No Family Left Behind". This event was a one-stop shop of 50 resources that focused on education, finance, health, housing, employment, law, public safety and senior services. Thank you to our wonderful Ambassasors Jeff Adams, Bomani Gray, China Johnson, Luther Keith and Maria Martin-Thomas for helping us! So far, the Roaming Table has been well-received by citizens and has continued to open doors for this project to take flight in the city. There are more appearances to come...let us know if you want the Table to visit your organization or accompany your next event. Watch the video of the Roaming Table at the Hannan House.

Who is Detroit?
| |
In under four minutes you will be transfixed and inspired by the magnificent imagery in the iDetroit film. The video was created to show the finest asset Detroit has to offer...its people. We thank Elijah Lewis who produced the filmthat has received fabulous reviews throughout the city.
As a creator, producer and editor of film and music, Elijah Lewis is a pioneer of delivering interactive technologies. He uses innovative technologies to not only communicate but interact with his audience.

Elijah Lewis, Founder DpInteractive LLC
|
Since 1996, Lewis has provided award-winning productions and creative input to major music labels, corporations, non-profit organizations, television shows, and he has worked with some of the entertainment industry's most prestigious stars, in places such as Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and Toronto.
Elijah's success comes from a combination of a well planned digital design process and the innate ability to produce much of his work on impulse. This unique talent allows the creative process to take life, emerge, and often take on a breadth of its own, while the initial intended or scripted plan takes a back seat, resulting in a piece of work that catapults to a greater level of innovation.
The production of the iDetroit film, reflected many known and unknown aspects of the city. Every stage of the work perpetuated the next, and iDetroit illustrated the depiction of each individual "i" concept that Lewis and his team envisioned.
In casting this film, Lewis says "he embraced a diverse culture of Detroiters who live, work and support the city, which gave him the ability to capture the uniqueness of the community and the city's architectural richness through story. "The opportunity to produce this film was a gratifying experience for me and my team."
