Roaming Table
The table is a modular design that can easily be moved from one location to another.
On Monday, December 19, Ponsella Hardaway of MOSES and the Civic Engagement Team hosted the first Roaming Table event at the Rosa Parks Transit Centert, located at the corner of Cass and Michigan avenue. The team was successful in grabbing the attention of many local patrons waiting for buses. They were welcomed with curiosity and eager ears to learn more about the Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning and how to get involved. The event gave our team the opportunity to handout informational literature and to engage patrons with a "verb-word" exercise to help portray their vision of the future of Detroit. The exercise included verbs, like "socialize, work, eat, play, shop, etc" that allowed the users to specify the importance of these actions in a close proximity to where they live. A special thanks to Ponsella Hardaway of MOSES and her organization for helping to facilitate the first Roaming Table.

On Saturday, December 17, Dan Pitera attended the Black Family Development sponsored Osborn Networking for Change Holiday Luncheon. He presented to approximately 220-250 people the refreshed vision for the Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning process. He was met with open enthusiasm for the newly enhanced civic engagement process. He ended the talk with the caution: "I want our actions to speak alongside our words." For an hour before and after his presentation, Dan met with people one-on-one exchanging information and stories. A big thanks to Alice Thompson for welcoming DWPLTP to the Osborn Networking for Change Holiday Luncheon at the American Serbian Memorial Hall.
