Dear Friend,

Today we mark the International Day of Nonviolence, observed annually on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.

For our team at Just Vision, this day is a reminder of the pressing need to shift focus away from the political posturing and extremism that dominate press coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and draw critical attention to constructive nonviolent resistance efforts that are largely ignored.

This year, we have a special announcement to mark the day: Budrus has just been selected as a finalist for the prestigious PUMA.Creative Impact Award, given annually to the documentary film that has had the most significant impact in creating social change.

Juror and noted actor Danny Glover spoke of the power of documentaries to create "a more informed, aware and vigorous citizenship." He also noted how effective they are in taking audiences on "the journey from apathy to empathy."

We couldn't agree more.

We're deeply honored that Budrus has been chosen as a finalist for the Puma.Creative Impact Award and we hope that our selection will spark meaningful conversations about the positive role nonviolence can play in achieving a future of freedom, dignity, security and peace for all Palestinians and Israelis.

We hope you will consider celebrating with us and marking this year's International Day of Nonviolence by

making a tax-deductible donation to our ongoing public education campaign for Budrus.

With appreciation,
