Guild 101 Trivia Night
Who knew we knew so much?
The first annual Guild 101 Trivia Night was held at the home of Kathy Prokay, VP of Membership (thanks for hosting, Kathy!)on July 21. New members gathered for a Guild orientation and formed teams to demonstrate their incredible knowledge of music.
Notably, the Guild Gals won, followed closely by Team Orpheus. The Upbeats were a vibrant and fun team, and only the Red Violin team knew that Peggy Dreher is a saxophonist! Special thanks to Mica Oberkfell and Betty Lou Newcomb for kicking off this year's Guild 101 with pizzazz!
Watch for more information about our next Guild 101 scheduled for September 27!!

Guild Education Endowment
Open for Business!!
Perhaps our "best kept secret"
Established in 2001 to make special funding available to enhance our existing Education projects or create a new project, the fund has not been tapped in awhile. Earnings are sitting in the bank, just waiting for the savvy Guild member to dream big for the Guild's education projects and asking for a grant to help make it happen!
It's easy to apply, just click here for an application and a brochure.
And, don't forget - you can make a gift for the future - recognize milestones, say thank you, or remember someone special. Your gift will keep giving for years to come! To make a gift online, simply click here, or find address information on The Guild website in the brochure. |

CSYO Summer Camp Concert
You are going to love this!
As you may know, every year The Guild sponsors a resident summer camp for the Youth Orchestra at Converse College in Spartanburg (not far from where the Panthers football summer camp takes place, actually). The Youth Orchestra performs its first concert of the year - and it is wonderful. It is the culmination of non-stop, concentrated rehearsals over three days, together as an orchestra or with sectional coaches. Come and see how quickly these fabulous young musicians coalesce! And, it's FREE!!
If you are interested in making a fun day trip (about 1.5 hour drive), here's a map!
