New Interactive Fall Foliage Website is Now Available

As temperatures cool down and leaves begin to change color, the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that a brand new Fall Foliage Website, complete with a colorful gradient map that provides predicted conditions on fall foliage throughout Connecticut, is now available.

The new website has a variety of choices to make your fall foliage excursion a success:

Intensity of color during specific time periods - The website features an interactive map that with a quick touch of the wrist, visitors may select a date and fall foliage colors will appear on the map.

Scenic Views & Hiking Locations - By choosing "Scenic Views & Hiking Locations," visitors will see names of state parks and forests where fall foliage is spectacular this year.

Fall Foliage Driving Routes - Shows five driving routes in Connecticut.

GreatParkPursuitOutdoorRecreationChallengeThe Great Park Pursuit Outdoor Recreation Challenge - Family Biking Day

On Saturday, October 8th we will be hosting Family Biking Day at Air Line State Park Trail in Hebron, CT.   The event runs from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Come out for an easy day of biking along the Air Line Trail off of Route 85 in Hebron.  Families can bike from bird house to bird house as they learn about nature and collect their alphabet stamps.

Don't have a bike?  No worries.  We will have a limited number of bicycles available for families to use (available for a maximum of two hours).  To reserve a bicycle, you must email us by October 6 and let us know how many (adult and children) bicycles you need.  We will confirm if and what time frame they are available.  Please note that the trail is also stroller and wagon friendly.
