A big thanks to all of our talented Rock 'N' Rollo Challenge participants! It was a great pleasure to see everyone's hard work and creativity. You can review the Challenge rules here. Rings & Things is proud to announce the Challenge winners: The First Place Award goes to "Circular Logic" by Bob Williams of Dazzlez in Snohomish, Washington. This viking knit necklace wowed our judges with it's harmonious integration of the required rollo chain and gemstone beads with the meticulous viking knit, gorgeous etched casings, and locally-procured bird feathers. This extraordinary design must have also wowed a lot of you, because it swept the People's Choice Award too! See the full "Circular Logic" necklace & read the artist's statement here. The Second Place Award goes to "Feather and Stone" by Teresa Fuhrmeister of Hayes, Virginia. This impressive winning necklace combines the required rollo chain & gemstone beads with reclaimed copper sheet to create a skillfully executed piece of jewelry that evokes a uniquely American spirit. The judges were particularly impressed with the details in the metal work on this piece - note the hand stitched wire and patina pattern on the feather focal. See a larger image of "Feather and Stone" plus read the artist's statement here. The Third Place Award goes to "Amazon Waterlife" by Mara Marlow of Federal Way, Washington. In this lovely and versatile two-piece necklace design, Mara invites us to dive into attractive layers of the required rollo chain and gemstone beads, accompanied by water-themed Vintaj (R) metal embellishments. See a larger image of "Amazon Waterlife" & read the artist's statement here. We hope all the contestants had as much fun making their entries as we had fun getting to see them. Congratulations, winners!
