The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping artisans struck by disasters. Not only did hurricane Irene hit several craftspeople in New England, it also hit CERF's home office!

Luckily, according to CERF's most recent newsletter, "our staff and office were not severely affected and we are in a good position to help. Right now, we are in the process of connecting with artists, organizations, businesses and others in the craft and arts community to offer assistance and recovery resources. While it is still too early to know how many artists have been impacted, we do know that overall the damage is severe and widespread. We also know that there is a particularly high population of artists in this region."
