Holiday Activities for the Whole Family

Just 30 minutesleddings of daily physical activity is enough to keep you in shape. Can't find time during the busy holiday season? Try spreading those 30 minutes into three 10-minute workouts over the course of the day.

Here are a few fun, local holiday activities to enjoy with your family while racking up those minutes:

Stroll: Take a brisk walk through Downtown Lancaster and check out store fronts and  festive decorations while burning

up a few calories. To see a calendar of special holiday events, click here.

Skate:
Spend an evening out ice skating at Clipper Stadium. 30 minutes of moderate skating burns
approximately 250 calories.

Play:
When winter precipitation strikes, try skiing or playing in the snow. These fun-filled
activities are sure to get your heart pumping.

Walk:
Use steps when available, parkmall farther away from the store or take a fast lap around the mall. Walking the interior perimeter of Park City Center will clock 1.122 miles on your pedometer.

Give:
Make a family commitment to get involved in a local charity.  Giving of your time and talents to an organization like Habitat for Humanity will allow you and your family to clock in some physical activity while doing something good for the community.
