opera
The annual children's opera is one of NewGate's most important yearly cultural events. The students transform the Glenridge Performing Arts Center into a magical venue and a night of joyous celebration. Every student participated, including several first time performers from Ms.Majory and Rebecca's Primary Class. This year's performance was The Song of Hiawatha, based on the poem byHenry Wadsworth Longfellow. Next year we plan to produce the Burning Rice Fields.

Two NewGate students, Nina Edelsbacher and Teagan Allen, wrote a poem appreciating Coach Dave for how much he helps them like PE and his continuing encouragement to be fit for life. Their poem won the Barnes and Noble contest, so all three were recognized in a ceremony Saturday.
