NewGate-Field's Second Cycle Secondary students are spending this week immersed in the Sarasota Film Festival. This is just one example of the experiential, real world learning in which our oldest students participate. It combines challenging academic discussion and writing projects about films with a truly memorable week-long immersion experience at our local film festival with all of its industry experts. Amy Kremer and Jeff Cornwell have been working with the students on the Film Festival experience over the last two months.
Their involvement with the Film Festival began in February and will conclude this week when they are serving as the Junior Jury of the Sarasota Film Festival.
As part of the Film Festival experience our students trained in writing in the blog genre. Five or so of our students' blog posts were used on the Sarasota Film Festival blog and you can see them through the link below.
