Timing Is Everything

Article By  Joe Anselmo, Co-Owner & CEO of Turning Point Real Estate

Joe Ansemo, Co-Owner & CEO of Turning Point Real Estate

Most often we use this phrase to describe timing from a point of reference relating to being in the right place at the right time, or finding ourselves as the recipient of something we've been waiting for. But this MOJO is about being "on-time".

"Your Monday MOJO" is intended to broaden your awareness in your thinking realm, causing altered behaviors and habits, which ultimately lead to greater results in all areas of life. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter where the information comes from so long as it helps just one person. So last week, we added a comment section and invited anyone reading the YMM to submit a good article, video, antidote or whatever that they would like to share with the other readers.

I read this recently and loved it! This is something I think we can all relate to and lean from. It is written by a Son who shares a great lesson he learned from his Father.

Here's your weekly challenge; integrate this into your behavior this week and see how much better you feel, and how grateful other are.

Make it your best week! Joe

Tognoli Time by Tom Tognoli

When you go on vacation with him, play golf with him, have dinner with him...when you do anything with him, he is, and always has been early and NEVER EVER makes anyone wait on him. Growing up my parents taught me a lot of great lessons, but this one very simple thing is probably one of the most valuable lessons my dad taught me. My dad understands that the most valuable asset people have is their time and when you are late you are telling people you don't care about them.

I am happy to say the apple has not fallen far from the tree. Most people who know me know I am early for almost everything and have heard me talk about Tognoli Time...5 minutes early. It is now even something my boys, Tommy(13) and Nick(11), talk about and do. The funny thing is we did not talk much about it when I was growing up. What my dad did is he led by example and he did it himself. Because of that, it was burned into me that it is just the way it is suppose to be. I never really knew anything different or that there was another option.

When you are on time, or better yet early, it tells people you are disciplined, organized, accountable, reliable, respectful, and on top of things...it tells people you care. When you are late, it not only wipes these out, but it tells people you are lackadaisical, unorganized, unreliable, disrespectful, and out of control...it tells people you don't care. The funny thing is now-a-days most people live life late, so if you show up a bit early, you stand out like a sore thumb (in a good way of course). It is like getting a 20 yard head start in a 100 yard dash.

Now, I know what a lot of you are saying. "I just have too much on my plate. I am running from one thing to another and I just can't do it." BULL! If we magically had 25 hours in a day instead of 24, it will still be the same excuse. That is just a crappy affirmation you need to get out of your noggin and replace it with, "I am in control...I am a great time manager...I am always on time".

Do you want to have more? Do you want to be more successful? Do you want to win? Do you want to be in control?

Institute Tognoli Time and I promise you will be blown away by the results. Not to mention it is a heck of a lot less stressful than living life 5 minutes late.

Thanks Pops!!!!!

Cheers!

Facebook Fan Page Updates

Article By  Melissa Kinna, Director of Creative Marketing & Technology of Turning Point Real Estate

Melissa Kinna, Director of Creative Marketing & Technology

As we all know to keep technology fresh and up-to-date comes the need for updates and changes.  I know many times we get frustrated because we just started to get used to the system(s) we are using and then they go and make changes.  But take a positive look at this - it is a way to keep us on our toes, making us stay fresh and up-to-date.

With that, many of you have asked me about the changes for Facebook Fan Pages and whether or not to use them.    So, I looked into it and what I have found is that this new format allows administrators to proactively connect to more people, businesses and networks. It helps spread the word of mouth on campaigns, while also allowing more flexibility on how to search the site.

To help you through this change, I thought it would be a nice jester to share with you five changes you should be aware of on the "New" Facebook Fan Page:

1. Comment on Other Fan pages, it is Amazing! One of the most publicized changes that Facebook made when launching the new Fan Pages was that now you can write on other Fan Pages as your company Fan Page.

2. Add that Personal Touch: Another great feature is that you can also now comment on the company page as yourself. This used to be incredibly difficult to do in the past, which would have involved fake profiles and constantly switching accounts.

3. Choose the Right Wall: With the new features, you can also select what type of Wall you want people to see when they click on your page. You have the two options of either the regular Wall with every person's post or choose to only include the posts that you put up as administrator.

4. Utilize the News Feed: Now that Facebook has allowed you to comment and "Like" other company pages, you can now create your own company news feed. Facebook will draw in posts from the groups you like just as it does for your personal profile page. But if you pick and choose, then you can arrange it in a way to suit your company.

5. Highlight the Right Tabs: It's not all optimistic with the new changes. On the old Facebook design, tabs were lined up at the top of the page, and were very noticeable when you first looked at the page. Now, that's not the case. They're located on the left sidebar, like regular profiles tabs. They're also smaller and harder to see.  If you want a certain tab to stand out, you can still make it your landing page.
