At the invitation of AMWA, 30 top researchers, educators, and administrators in the Women's Health field will begin review of exams of the National Board of Medical Examiners for their gender specific contents. New HIV Incidence Estimates   

New HIV surveillance data indicates that while the overall number of new HIV infections has remained fairly stable, there continues to be increasing numbers of new infections among gay men.

  • Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber, MD, associate professor of clinical medicine and pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine, has been appointed the new executive director of the IU National Center of Excellence in Women's Health.
  • August 1-7 was World Breastfeeding Week. AMWA's Executive Director, Lindsay Groff, MBA spoke at the Latch on America Tour on August 3 at the University of Pennsylvania.  
  • AMWA is saddened to report the tragic death of Dr. Margaret Jensvold, a former AMWA member and a brilliant psychiatrist, who will be remembered for her contributions to AMWA and the medical community at large.
