This ad was so moving because it made it seem like everyone else had something that you did not have! Peers are a huge purchasing motivator. A woman often wants a diamond bigger than her friend's diamond. Use peer pressure to make more sales!

If you have not heard about LULULEMON you will! They have mastered the art of telling a story. They started by becoming the EXPERT in yoga clothes. They found the best instructors around the country and gave them free LuLulemon yoga clothes to wear when they taught yoga. They teach free yoga classes in their stores. All of their employees are yoga teachers.

Besides establishing themselves as the expert, their branding is fantastic. Their products feel hip, trendy, green. If you want to learn how to brand yourself, learn from Lulumenon. Last year when there was construction in Los Angelos (called Car-magedon by some.) JetBlue offered $4.00 20-minute flights to avoid the traffic. Crazy? Yes, but it got people talking.

         A chocolate maker had an event where for one day people paid in GOOD DEEDS instead of cash. Each item was priced for a certain task the customer had to perform in order to "buy" it. The customers then had to post the promise to do the good deed on Facebook.

           Crazy stunts like these aren't so crazy when you think about all free publicity and goodwill you receive: especially in comparison to all the money you spend on traditional ads that often get ignored.
