Special Announcement, August 2011
Dear ,

I am excited to let you know about a new non-credit program being offered through our partnership with the Business Startup Institute. The Practical Entrepreneurship Program features curriculum developed and presented by Dr. Tom Duening, El Pomar Chair of Business and Entrepreneurship, and director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.  Tom is an experienced entrepreneur and scholar of entrepreneurship in the College of Business. Throughout the program, Tom shares his experiences and what he's learned through years of research and teaching.

The PraPractical Entrepreneurship Programctical Entrepreneurship Program consists of 21 lessons delivered through a digital chalkboard providing video, illustrations, templates, downloadable attachments and learning tools. The content of the program is arranged around three core areas: developing a business plan, launching the business, and growing and planning an exit. A list of lessons is available by clicking here. Individual lessons are $29. The entire 21-lesson program can be purchased for $299.

Recently, Tom was interviewed about the program, and shared his thoughts about how this might help new entrepreneurs.

We believe that making this non-credit program available at a reasonable price means beginning entrepreneurs can beat the learning curve and succeed with their first startup business.  Despite the faltering economy, this is still a good time to start a new business. This program furthers our vision of building successful futures for our stakeholders who are interested in starting their own businesses.

I hope you will forward this information to anyone you know who is either considering starting a business or who has already begun and would benefit from this practical knowledge.

Cordially,
