See what happens when you give teams of a chef, a local celebrity and an event sponsor a basket full of mystery ingredients from the Gifts of Love food pantry and 45 minutes to prepare 2 dishes!

READY, SET, COOK!

 

Date/Time: Sunday, June 12th at 12noon

Location: Tunxis Plantation Country Club, Farmington

 

Guests will watch four teams comprised of Celebrity Chefs, Local Celebrities, and members of the audience, compete against each other as they turn a selection of everyday ingredients into two extraordinary meals. 

 

The event will be hosted by Rachel Lutzker (Fox 61 news) and Cory Myers (Country 92-5 Morning show host)

 

Chefs include Van Hurd (returning champion, Jordan Catering), Matt Cormier (The Meat House), Scott Miller (Max Oyster Bar) and David Pianka (Papacelle Restaurant).

 

Celebrities include Jim Bosh (Country 92-5 Morning show host), Bob Crawford (Announcer for the Hartford Wolfpack), Mary Glassman (First Selectman of Simsbury), and Debbie Wright (Fashionista, Project Closet).

 

Judging the meals are Anne Howard (Chef and owner of Apricots and The Bond), Erik Bush (Director of Wines, Flemings Steakhouse and Wine Bar), and Kevin Cottle, (Corporate Chef Jordan Catering) and former winner!

 

The cooking showdown will go off at 1:15pm and finish at 2:00pm. The presenting to the judges will take place at 2:10pm. The winners will beawarded awarded by 2:45pm.

Gifts of Love has refrigerators and freezers and can store fresh fruits and vegetables for days. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 to 3, some evenings and some Saturdays for donations.

 

Times are tough. You can help your neighbors in need by reaching into your backyard and your back pocket.

 

 

We also accept donations of home raised eggs! And have egg cartons available.
