The First Annual 22q Awareness Day at the Ballpark!
Despite the rain and cold temperatures the day was a success in creating awareness and generating support for 22q families and children with the disorder. Fans at the ballpark that day received a special Ryan Dempster photo card with Dempster Family Foundation and 22q information. More than 150 22q children and their families, doctors, nurses and other medical staff specializing in 22q braved the cold and rainy weather to meet with Cubs Pitcher Ryan Dempster prior to the game.
Ryan took photos, signed autographs and answered questions from the group. Fans also had several opportunities to support The Dempster Family Foundation that day - if you'd like to support the Foundation - you can donate via the Dempster Family Foundation mobile giving campaign by texting DEMPSTER to 20222 (messaging and data rates may apply.)

Over 600 Cubs fans visited the Wrigleyville candy store to meet Ryan and enjoy Candyality's very own Cubbie Gummies.
|
|
More than 600 fans visited the Wrigleyville sweets shop on April 3, raising over $2,300 for the Foundation. Fans purchased unique candy bins filled with Candyality's very own red, white and (cubbie) blue Cubbie Gummie Bears and had the opportunity to meet Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.
Candyality also hosted the Sweetest Cub Fan's Raffle with all proceeds benefiting the charity. For the second year in a row, Candyality has pledged to donate $1 to the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation for every pound of Cubbie Gummie Bears sold.

The 14th Annual "Eve of the Opener" at Finley Dunne's Tavern pulled together close to 100 Foundation supporters and Cubs fans alike to raise more than $4,300 for the Foundation. Guests of the event were treated to an open bar, appetizers and a limited edition "Eve of the Opener" t-shirt while backing a great cause.
