Cubs Cookbook Photo
Shoot with photographer
Bob Milkovich
Sometimes the best recipes are just thrown together. You could definitely say that about the photo shoot for the Cubs Cookbook. The photo shoot came together so quickly that photographer Bob Milkovich had only a couple of days to prepare. But thanks to his creativity and the players' spontaneity the end result came out better than he could have imagined! Click here for more information and to purchase your Cubs Cookbook.

Buddy Guy's Legends and 2011 Cubs Convention Kick Off Year Two of The Dempster Family Foundation!
|
The Dempster Family Foundation celebrated the start of year two with a week full of activities in Chicago to help raise funds and awareness for 22q! On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, six time Grammy winner Buddy Guy opened his Buddy Guy's Legends Blues Club for a Cubbie Blues Event to help raise funds for The Dempster Family Foundation. Longtime Chicago blues band Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials headlined the event, and Cubs pitcher Justin Berg made a cameo on the drums to support his teammate and thrill the crowd. The event kicked off the 40th anniversary of Alligator Records and the 25th anniversary of Vine Line, the monthly magazine of the Chicago Cubs - a publication of EMI Network.

Foundation booth draws fans and famous
|
|
The kick off to year two for The Dempster Family Foundation continued with a booth at the 2011 Cubs Convention, the weekend of January 14-16, 2011. Thousands of Cubs fans visited the booth throughout the weekend to learn more about the Foundation and its efforts to raise funds and awareness for children and families affected by 22q11.2 deletion. Although Ryan and his wife Jenny were in Arizona awaiting the birth of their third child, several current and former Cubs players stood in for Ryan with autograph sessions at the booth including former Cubs Center Fielder Bob Dernier, current Cubs Pitcher Randy Wells, and Cubbie Legend, "Mr Cub" himself, Ernie Banks!

About D'Agostino's
The Team Dempster Partner D'Agostino's Pizza & Pub partnership started two years ago, when Scott and Sara D'Agostino offered to host the first event for the Dempster Family Foundation - a neighborhood launch party to celebrate the new Foundation. The event was a great success-raising over $20,000, before the Foundation had even been formally announced. The D'Agostinos wanted to continue efforts year round, and decided to start a campaign called 22q Days at D'Agostinos. Their motto is join the team to "Strike Out 22q"! For every pizza purchased on the 22nd of each month at each of the four locations, D'Agostino's Pizza and Pub donates $1 to the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation to help support families of children with 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS). Thanks to an off-season move, you will be able to enjoy D'Agostino's pizza now at WRIGLEY FIELD! We're proud to have D'Agostinos as our first TEAM DEMPSTER partner, and look forward to many more events together. For more information on the campaign, visit www.dagsdelivers.com
Dag's Delivers Great Family Night of Fun
for the Foundation
D'Agostino's Pizza and Pub also hosted the Second Annual "Family Night of Fun" in December to benefit The Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation. Attendees at the all-you-can-eat and drink pizza party mixed and mingled with Ryan Dempster and several of his Chicago Cubs teammates as well as participated in a silent auction, raffle and trivia contest.
