Remember that the WSPTA training bylaw requires every PTA local unit or council to send at least one executive committee member (elected officer) to a session of PTA & the Law during the PTA year. This requirement cannot be met by on-line learning courses, nor can the Region Service Delivery Team present PTA & the Law on an individual basis.
We appreciate the efforts you have all made to receive training this year and hope these additional sessions will be helpful.
Also - Region 6 will host a Spring Conference the evening of Thursday, March 22. Details are still being worked out, so if you have suggestions for what classes or topics would be especially welcome, please call or e-mail me within the next week.
Thank you all for your continuing efforts to "Make every child's potential a reality."

Seattle Council PTSA Grants at Work
If your PTSA has an upcoming need or event that meets grant criteria then consider applying for one of the ongoing grants. Go to "Grants" at www.seattlecouncilptsa.org. Area Directors can also help out with the grant application process. To find your Area Director click on "Board Members" at above website. Thanks to all those who have sent in applications. It is inspiring to see the dedication and variety of programs by Seattle PTSA volunteers! Mercer Middle School received a SCPTSA Leadership Grant. The grant was used for the purpose of recruiting new PTSA members and leaders over three General Meetings. They made a commitment to complete PTA sponsored training for the current executive board.
Concord International Elementary School received a SCPTSA Leadership Grant to attend PTA trainings. Executive board members attended the Region 6 Fall Conference and one went to the mandatory PTA and the Law. Whitman Middle School received a SCPTSA Family Engagement Grant to help families connect with the school. Two Open Houses have been scheduled, with one already completed, to provide support for ELL students and their families. The school prepared a potluck and bilingual materials and translators were made available.
