Dear PTA and PTSA Leaders,
Thanks to everyone who attended last week's WSPTA's Region 6 Training at the John Stanford Center. We had a great conversation in the Outreach class. A few ideas came up that I wanted to share. Does your school have a linguistically diverse community? Consider bringing translators to your events for families. The American Red Cross' Language Bank has free translators. Click here for more information
SPS also has translators available for a fee. Contact Narcita Eugenio at neugenio@seattleschools.org or (206) 252-0073. A few years ago, the Seattle Council PTSA and the district purchased translation headsets. The headsets are free to borrow and need to be reserved two weeks in advance. Click here for the form. Contact Bernardo Ruiz at (206) 252-0693 or bjruiz@seatleschools.org for more information about the headsets.
Please feel free to share information in this eNews with your community.
Sincerely,
Lauren McGuire
