SPS Shared Savings Awards for 2009/10 Resource Conservation

Shared Savings Awards for 2009/2010 resource conservation have been announced!  Eighty schools will receive awards of varying amounts for conserving energy, water, and/or waste from September 2009 through June 2010.  This year, a total of $84,875 will be awarded to schools from savings in the District utility budget.  Award money can be used to continue current conservation projects at the school or begin new projects.  To put it into an environmental perspective: winning schools saved enough electricity during 2009/10 to power over 110 homes for an entire year!

Information about the program is also available online at  http://www.seattleschools.org/area/conservation/sharedsavings.html.  To see how much your school saved, check out the annual report: http://www.seattleschools.org/area/conservation/Documents/09-10SharedSavings-FinalReport.pdf
