Home Ecology Newsletter
Greetings!

Hello! I hope the end of summer/early fall finds you well. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that August already feels like a distant memory! I mean, it's time to start thinking about clearing out my compost bins for winter and chopping up a big pile of kindling already, and last week I canned 26 quarts of stewed tomatoes!

Speaking of canning, I'll be one of the presenters at the Canning Workshop this Thursday (see below). Please join us if you have any questions about canning. There will be lots of knowledge shared and I guarantee you'll leave feeling confident enough to do it on your own.

I'm also planning a lacto-fermentation (pickling with brine) workshop for later in the fall, to be presented by a real gem of a local expert. And I might just offer a little composting workshop. So stay tuned!

Check out the community events listed below. Oh, and try and stop by for the end-of-summer clearance sale we're having. It's HUGE!

Take care,
Holly, Compost Maven

PS. On a more personal note I am training for the Chicago Marathon on Oct 9, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Wish me luck! If you would like to make a small tax-deductible donation to the ACS, which is a great organization that helps a lot of courageous people, then feel free to click right here!
