BoardTimes have changed and so has the Board of Directors for the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce. Our Board of Directors are active in the progression of the community, the businesses and the chamber's ability to grow and best serve our membership.

Would you be interested in being a part of one of the most forward thinking and influential group of community leaders? You do not have to be a resident of Newcastle but you must be a chamber member in good standing to participate.

Each board member serves a term of 2 years. Each board member is subject to a Board Meeting once a month (2nd Thursday) and a board orientation meeting. They will also have the option to attend the OCCE Volunteer Leadership Training (conducted at Annual Meeting in November).
Additionally, each officer can only serve 2 consecutive terms in an officer position and is subject to an additional meeting of the Executive Committee each month (1st Thursday).

To be an officer on the Board of Directors, a member must have served at least one (1) year as a sitting board member. ALL officer positions are elected each year from the sitting board members.

If you are interested or know someone who would be a good candidate, please contact us for more information.

BanquetBanquet/Auction Task Force - November 10 at the Chamber Office 12:00pm

We are looking for a committed group of individuals to help coordinate the Annual Banquet and Auction for 2011. This event is our LARGEST and most anticipated event annually.

By getting a jump start on the auction, we can provide our attendees the opportunities to bid on new and exciting items while continuing to bring the items that bring them back each year.

The commitment is "long" (November to March) and only the strongest will survive and with your help and dedication, we can come together to make this another event to remember.

You will be the deciding factor on many aspects of the event from entertainment, design and auction.

Think you have the party planning genes? Come put them to test for the Annual Banquet and Auction.
