We are excited to announce the upcoming 2010 Cowboy Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs. This invigorating program offers the very best of our top-ranked entrepreneurship curriculum at Oklahoma State University. In its second year, the Cowboy Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs is a rigorous program targeted to startup businesses. In 2009, we had 57 entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs attend the program from across Oklahoma.
The Bootcamp is a series of intensive education sessions designed to help entrepreneurs develop the skills necessary to create successful, growth-oriented businesses. Program participants will be trained on topics such as developing and refining a business concept, understanding your profit model, creating winning business plans, guerrilla marketing, using the internet, and making smart decisions on the critical financial, legal and operational tactics for victory in a competitive market. The curriculum is based on key elements of the School of Entrepreneurship offered in the Spears School of Business at OSU. A team of faculty and guest entrepreneurs provide fun and interactive hands-on experiences which will prepare participants to create/grow ventures successfully. Attendees also receive consulting assistance while in the Bootcamp.
Sessions will take place at the OSU-Tulsa Campus on six consecutive Saturday mornings, Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Nov. 6 and 13, from 8:30 am-noon. |

The Keep Oklahoma Beautiful statewide Environmental Excellence Competition recognizes the good works of Oklahomans for exceptional environmental improvement efforts completed during the 12-month period ending June 30 each year.
A statewide call for nominations goes out in June for awards in a variety of categories. After a rigorous judging process, the top three finalists in each category are notified and invited to attend the awards banquet and celebration in November. This highly anticipated event is well attended and full of fun, surprises, inspiring stories, good food and entertainment. Each finalist is honored with a media presentation telling the story of their achievements, just before the winners in each category are revealed.
Out of all category winners for the year, one is selected by the judges to be the OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD recipient, presented as a surprise at the close of the evening.
As you click through the pages in this section, you can find former award winners (from 1999 to present) in the KOB Hall of Fame. Reading the stories of amazing accomplishments through the years will amaze and inspire you.
You may also use the site search feature on the Home Page to find a specific person, organization, agency or business. |

The Newcastle Education Foundation Fundraising banquet/concert is scheduled for August 14th, at Moore-Norman Technology Center (see attached flyer). It will be a concert style event with Newcastle's own Kylie Morgan as our entertainer (CMA - "Who NEW to watch in 2010") www.kyliemorgan.com. Since this is a concert-style benefit event, there are only 10 VIP tables (the remaining seats will be general admittance theater-style seating-see flyer for ticket pricing). If you choose to have a VIP table, the donation would be $500 (or more if you wish) and you will receive 8 tickets for guests at your table. If not all tickets are used, you may donate them to students or teachers. Guests at your table will receive VIP badges to wear.
Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served in the entry areas for general admittance, but each VIP table will have its own tray(s) of food. A silent auction will begin at 5:30pm and the program will begin at 6:30pm. Kylie performs from 7:00pm-9:00pm, with a 30 minute intermission, during which we will have a live auction.
Tickets are available at First National Bank, Legacy Bank, Newcastle Pacer, Sooner State Bank and Verden Bank. $40 in advance or $50 at the door. |
